SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Technician Maintenance position focused on the SPY Radar System working as part of our team supporting the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) C290 Surface Combat Systems (Weapons) Division, C296 AEGIS Branch, providing engineering and technical support services on U.S. Naval Ships in port and underway at U.S. Naval facilities and shipyards.

Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite support to conduct specified engineering/technical evaluations, perform equipment functional checks, perform troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair to correct SPY Radar Systems maintenance, installation, and connectivity faults.
- Formulate and present findings, briefings, status reports, and correspondence for all stakeholders such as TYCOM, ISEA, MARMC, and Ship’s Force.
- Provide OBMT to Ship's Force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of the SPY Radar to include SPY Arrays, Legacy Signal Processor (SIGPRO), Multi-Mission Signal Processor (MMSP), Ballistic Missile Defense Signal Processor (BSP), Transmitter, and Interfaces associated with baselines 5.4/7.2/9.
- Perform/provide support during shipboard Combat Systems tasks including ICMP tasking, TSRA, C5RA, INSURV programs, Tech Assist events, and SPY Array Material Condition Assessment (MCA). These efforts may require rapid results in a stressful environment in order to meet ship’s mission requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- At least 6 years’ experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and assessing SPY Radar Arrays, SIGPRO, MMSP, BSP, and/or Transmitter.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS), as well as general and special purpose electronic test equipment to perform both organizational and intermediate level maintenance.
- Required Education: Must be a graduate of a Navy SPY Radar “C” School or commercial equivalent.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance and clearing necessary background checks/assessments as required. Active high-level Security Clearance will be required, and current Security Clearance is desired.
- Physical requirements for efficient navigation aboard US Navy ships includes possessing the physical stamina, strength, agility, and endurance to walk continuously for extended periods of time without experiencing significant fatigue, adequate upper and lower-body strength necessary to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and work aloft, and agility necessary to enter/exit confined spaces (tanks, voids, and spaces/compartments with manhole access).
