SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Technician position supporting the National Park Service (NPS), Denver Service Center (DSC). This group provides procurement support for large-scale design and construction projects at NPS units nationwide and ensures timely completion of actions and maintain project accountability to support DSC’s efforts and mission.
The Procurement Technician will provide ancillary procurement and administrative support services as assigned in support of the DSC, cross functional teams and functional stakeholders. This ongoing support has been critical in supporting the efforts of the Denver Service Center teams in meeting projected milestones from planning to award.

Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Purchase Request Management: Initiate and distribute purchase requests in the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS) in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
- Data Management and Reporting: Perform data entry, execute mass data updates, and generate regularly scheduled reports across multiple systems as required to ensure data accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
- Invoice Processing: Process invoices for review, approval, and payment in FBMS, ensuring adherence to federal regulations, prompt payment requirements, and internal controls.
- Issue Resolution and Status Tracking: Research payment requests and invoice discrepancies; investigate issues, coordinate resolutions, and provide timely updates and status reports to stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate daily with program managers, project specialists, contracting officers, contracting officer representatives (CORs), and contracting specialists to address pending questions regarding contractor-submitted invoices and facilitate timely payment processing.
- Provide ancillary services as needed in conjunction with assigned duties.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of hands-on experience in federal government contracting support functions. These functions include:
- Experience processing purchase requests, invoices, and payment documentation in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific policies.
- Experience supporting contract administration tasks, including tracking obligations, monitoring funding status, and reconciliation of discrepancies in financial records.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the Financial and Business Management System (FBMS), including navigating procurement, invoice processing, and reporting modules; entering and validating data, and generating standard and ad-hoc reports.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word for document preparation, Excel for data analysis and pivot tables, and Outlook for professional correspondence and calendar management.
- Demonstrate proficiency in high-volume, accurate, and rapid data entry with minimum typing of 50 words per minute and an accuracy rate of 98% or higher, while maintaining attention to detail in alphanumeric and financial data fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance and clearing necessary background checks/assessments as required.
